After deciding two weeks ago that we were going to get married we're finally telling our parents this weekend. I still don't have my ring, FI custom ordered one but won't be able to pay it off for a few months. I told him I didn't want something that was that expensive so I'm not sure what he's decided to do on that part. But we decided that we were going to tell our parents so the planning can actually come out in the open.
His parents (divorced) both adore me so we're not worried about telling them. My mom on the other hand we're not sure how she's going to feel. We're both nervous about telling her, he's almost scared to tell her. My mom has never said anything bad about him but I'm her only child and her only family left so I think this will be hard for her. I still live at home and spend a lot of time with her.
Monday she leaves for a week on a business trip, at first I thought it was great she could have a week away to let it sink in. But this morning she's telling me how stressed she is over this trip so now I'm thinking I should wait to tell her. My BFF says tell her so she has something positive to think of during this trip. So I have to decide tell her this weekend or next weekend when she gets back, also have to decide if FI will be there when I tell her.
