Sorry if this sounds funny, but I was wondering in this age of social media, if it was appropriate to not send out printed engagement announcements in lieu of just telephone and facebook announcements? I just got engaged to a wonderful guy earlier in the week, and I posted some lovely pictures of where he did it and the ring on facebook, where the majority of my family and friends have active accounts. I went to Staples to get more printer ink and saw there was some lovely stationary that would make a great engagement announcement.
I want to save on postage and printing costs if I can help it, but also don't want to bug any of my or his relatives who are expecting this if this is truly traditional.
What are your thoughts? We've spoken to all the major family members and let everyone know....but I want to just start everything out on the right foot
