My fiance and I knew we wanted to get married one year into the relationship. We picked out a ring, which is gorgeous, and he had to but it on layaway so it took a long time to get. Well he's not good at keeping secrets because the day he finished paying it off, he text me saying he had a surprise for me. I honestly didn't know what was up at first because he's always saying "I have a surprise for you." So he came to see me and he shows me a box. Of course I got really excited and I said "You got it!" He said yes, then proceeded to give me the box, feeling very excited I opened up quickly and nothing was in there. So I kept asking him where it was and he said he wasn't going to give it to me yet. However, I talked hm into it, and he showed me the ring, got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. The funny part of the story was that he did it in my brothers' room, and he booted them out to propose. Not very romantic, but very memorable.
