Just Engaged and Proposals

non traditional?

OK just so I can clear things up.....IM not trying to offend the catholic faith seeing I am Catholic. I am looking for a place to have my wedding. My family is catholic and So am I. I dont go to church very often anymore and my fiance is not catholic. My parents would like to see me get married in a church but Im not sure if its right for us. I dont want to dissapoint my parents by not getting married in a catholic church, but I also see it as our wedding not theirs. Has anyone gone to the courses that are required by the catholic church to get married? I would like to know how long they are and what happens during the class? Any info would be great thank you.

Re: non traditional?

  • Sure the pictures are nice, but at what cost? You are pretending to be something you aren't. The catholic church takes marriage very seriously and if you and FI aren't willing to do the pre-cana classes and live your lives as members of the Catholic church, what is the point?
