Just Got Engaged

My boyfriend of six years proposed at the end of May 2012! We're enjoying being engaged, but I've been thinking about themes, colors, and places, etc. More then likely the ceremony will take place in my church, but the reception is mind boggling because I've seen so many beautiful and creative reception ideas while looking on "the Knot" and I would like to combine some pictures that I've saved to create a magical reception for us. Frustration but yet FUN:)

Thanks! Possibly October 2013 because thats our birthday month. Our theme will be vintage (traditional black and white) unless we change our minds:)

Oh plan on changing your mind! If not that is great, but I have been engaged 3 weeks and my colors have changed from brown and blue to red white and blue (4th of july wedding) and when we went to look at bridesmaids dresses so we can kind of look at cost I was set on having navy blue dresses but now they are Red, which i never thought i would have wanted  but i love the colors!

So birthday month? Whats your birthdays?

I never really thought of it but 4th of July is right in between ours. His is mid June and mine is mid July!

Congratulations! Being engaged and planning is fun, exciting and stressful (because of everything to do). 

Most brides change there minds many times. Even if you change your mind on some things other ideas will stay the same through the entire planning process. Like PP above she finally settled on red, white and blue and wanted blue dresses but ended up getting red. So the color pallet stayed the same but the color of the dress changed. There does come a point when you will have to commit to no more changes and just go with what you have. 

I got married in Oct which also happens to be my birthday and dating anniversary month. Just be sure to remember not to combine your birthday with your wedding anniversary. Keep them desperate. Even if that means getting multiple cards and gifts. H has always been good about keeping my birthday and our anniversary separate but other people wish they did not get married so close (or on) their birthday. Their H's only celebrate the anniversary.
