I think the subject pretty much sums it up. We've been together for almost 1 1/2 years and we know we want to get married in the next year or so. However, due to some recent financial constraints, we haven't been able to move in together like we planned on doing before the summer. After some job hunting and success, we'll be moving in together in a couple months, but I know he's looking at rings and might officially propose very soon. So...how do I tell my parents? My mom's met him a couple times (my stepdad hasn't and I'm perfectly fine with that) but so far the family response is not too positive. I'm trying to play it off as a "only daughter" thing, because my family's never really liked any guy I introduced to them, but I do want them to be involved. Is there any way I can bring it up that won't lead to some big dramatic explosion?
