Yay! I'm excited and although its already been a few weeks and will be a long engagement, we are trying to go ahead and get things done.
My fiance was deployed and had started planning the proposal in Oct of last year. It seems as though everyone knew but me. When he came home, he asked my family and also was sneaky in finding out my ring size - picked a fight calling my fingers little sausages just so I'd get sized at the mall one day. (They aren't by the way..a 7.5 is still a little big)
We stayed at a really nice hotel in DC and walked to the Lincoln Memorial to watch the fireworks. Afterwards he proposed while still sitting on the steps. I cried.
Everyone knows about the engagement now and I'm doing really well not bringing it up all the time. Any advise on how to do that? It seems that everyone else is bringing it up so its ok to talk about our plans if they bring it up right?
