SYB Hall in Stow??

Just wondering if anyone has been to a reception or had their reception at the SYB hall in Stow. We're rethinking booking Falls River Square because the rental fee + catering costs is a bit out of budget. Just wondering what the place was like and how the food was. Food is important. My mom works with the wife of the head chef/owner/whatever.

i went there once just to watch our dj for the intro to decide if we wanted to book with him or not and the place was actually really nice.  there was a wedding with about 100 people when we went there and it looked really cute.  I dont know how the food was since I didn't eat but it looked good and they seemed to have very good and friendly staff!

Umm, the salads were dinky and scarce, the green beans tasted like they were from a can and the buffet was self serve without any staff serving it.  I was totally not impressed at all!! Oh, and the breaded chicken was dry.  I think SYB definitely is you get what you pay for.  I was a guest there not that long ago.  I would not recommend it.HTH

My fiance's sister had her wedding there last year.  It was ok, I guess.  The hall itself is pretty...  I don't really remember the food but my fiance said it wasn't that good.  His mom doesn't remember the food being bad but she doesn't remember it being good either.  A cousin just had a wedding there this year and my Grandma said the food was horrible.  We're going with Guy's Party Center in Akron because it's the cheapest.  If you have it on Friday night, it's a min of 150 people, and it's 30 per person and that includes the bar, tax and gratuity.  It's such a good deal. I hope this helps!

maria: we are going to look at guys tomorrow because they put a typo on their website and had a 150 minimum for saturday winter weddings so they said they would honor that...my question is do you think the room would still look full and everything if there were only to be around 150 people because I know the rooms are so large? but i really do love guys interior and their food is really good and cheap like you said!

We had a small wedding and though their pricing seemed really good, the room they were going to put us in seemed tiny.  Due to that fact, we decided to pass on using them.

To be completely honest....I don't know.  The rooms are really big but they're so pretty that I don't really care! lol.  When we went and looked at it, it was set up for 165 people and it seemed like it was just right.  We went with the South Ballroom because of the woodwork and it just looked prettier.  I hope this helps!
