So...it all went down in Banff (Canada) because I wanted to try to take a picture of a bear for a wildlife fundraiser I was going to donate the photo to.
I booked us this cute little cabin outside of town and we checked in on the Saturday afternoon after going to this really beautiful waterfall that was half-frozen.
I knew he had picked up the engagement ring (we chose it together) after it came back from being sized, and I wasn't sure if I should "expect" it that weekend or not. I figured it could go either way - either he'd do it because we were on a little mini holiday together, or he'd hold on to the ring and give it to me at a time that wasn't so...obvious, lol!
We got to our room and built a fire in the stove and headed back out to the waterfall because it was so pretty, and we figured alot of the crowd would have left for supper. They had, and we pretty much had the park to ourselves.
We ended up climbing the waterfall and found this closed off trail and headed up there - such rebels, LOL.
We stopped at a lookout over the creek and I was snapping pictures as usual and I hear him moving beside me so I glance over and there he is on one knee!
I laughed, he laughed, our dog barked at us. There was no speech, just "will you marry me, lovie?" and that was that. He tried to just give me the box with the ring in it, and I was like no way jose!! You gotta put that sh!t on there! So he did, and we smooched, and I took a pile of pictures of us and the view we had of the creek where he proposed, and we continued on our way!
I'm so happy.
We're getting married August 12 this year. He proposed March 24
