Passport Name Change- Help!

For those of you who have a passport and then requested a new one with your new name reflected...was the cost the same as if you were getting a brand new one?  I couldn't find this information online.  TIA!

I'm pretty sure it was less (or maybe didn't even cost anything??).  It was pretty quick and easy too.  I got my revised passport back within a few weeks.

If you apply within 1yr of getting married, there is no charge to change your name on your passport. If it's been over a yr, it's the same cost as renewing your passport.

It is free if you have had your passport for less than a year (not been married less than a year). If you have had your passport for more than a year, it is $75.00. You do not have to pay the execution fee of $25.00 that you had to pay the very first time you got your passport. Here is the link for more info http://travel.state.gov/passport/fri/ChangeName/ChangeName_851.html
