I've been engaged about a month and it feels wonderful. My fiance and I are high school sweethearts and have been together 6.5 years. A friend asked me the other day when we were getting married and I said it would most likely be when I finish school (I'm going back to school in September for nursing). So our engagement would be about 4.5 years. My friend said we had no business getting engaged if we were going to wait that long to get married! Is it normal to be engaged that long? We wouldnt be able to afford a nice wedding with paying for school and saving for a house, but at the same time I will be 28 when I graduate school and I dont want to wait forever...
