Dennis and I got engaged about a month ago. We've been together for 8 1/2 years and we've lived together for 8 years. We never planned on getting married... but like I said nothing ever goes as planned.
About 2 months ago we went shopping for engagement rings. He wanted me to give him some ideas of what I like/don't like. Well since nothing goes like we plan, we ended up buying one.
He decided to pick it up and surprise me with it and since I absolutely love Christmas he had the perfect plan. We were planning to go to this Christmas Village thing with my best friend and her boyfriend so he was going to propose there.
Well our first attempt at going there, both me and my best friends boyfriend got sick on the way there. So we rescheduled for the following weekend. When we finally made it to the place, it was nothing like what we expected. It was very nice, but not what any of us had imagined.
My best friend (who did not know he was going to propose) told us to go under the mistletoe so she could take a picture of us. He thought it would be the perfect time.... that is untill some people rushed us out of the way.
Finally as we were about to leave he explained to me that this is not anything like what he planned but he gave it to me any way. I was pretty surprised because I was not expecting it, but I think my friend was more excited than me lol. He later explained the whole mistletoe thing to me and when we looked at the pictures you can see that he is holding something. Nothing ever goes as planned, but thats ok by me.
