Newbie moving from not yet engaged to here....

Hi there!
I just wanted to tell everyone first, that I hope I can have a good experience with you girls.. I have been lurking on NYE for a few months and finally starting posting close to the time that my boyfriend and I were talking about an engagement. Well, once I made a few posts... most people were very rude and discouraging ... Now that I am newly engaged (WOOHOO) and am on cloud 9..Ive decided to move to this board! I want a positive experience and look forward to planning and discussing with all of you!
Short history- I am turning 26 on sunday and my FH will turn 26 next week. We booked our date for 10-22-11 and are sooo excited! Budget Wedding all the way, but I am an Interior Designer which makes it VERY hard! :P
Looking forward to reading and meeting with all of u!

Congratulations on your engagement!

As for the boards, make sure you lurk and get the feel for each.  Some will hold your hand and sugar coat things, some will tell you like it is (and it's usually good advice so put your feelings aside and read what they say), and some are just snarky.

Congrats on your engagement! 

On a side note, I'm on NEY quite a bit and I've learned that there's a difference between 'rude' and 'blatantly honest' and I've never seen a post there that came off as 'rude'.  People just feel that way when the responses aren't confirming exactly what they want to hear or aren't all sunshine and rainbows.  If you have thicker skin, you can get some amazing advice there, but for those that don't...well, they move to another board.
