I never got around to sharing my story but I thought I finally would
My fiance cannot keep a secret from me, he is such a sweetheart but I just know how to read him. Even this year I knew exactly what I was getting for christmas--without any snooping.
I knew about six months before he was going to propose that was what he was planning. For our one year anniversary he presented me with the travel iteniery for a disney cruise sceduled to leave 10/10/10.
Actually he just told me to take the week off from work, and he'd help me pack for the trip--aka he didnt want me to know for six months! But being the loveable kid he is he slipped up the next day and told me. oops.
My suspisions were confirmed over the next sixth months when he kept repeatedly saying i was in for a big surprise etc etc anddd when I truly accidently came across a few engagement ring brochures etc.
The night before we flew to florida to get on the ship he had a two years old temp tantrum about having to take his old backpack as his carry on on the plane when I wanted him to take a larger bag, then the next day in the airport he wouldn't let me near his bag, wouldn't open his bag, and everytime he went to the bathroom he begged me not to go near it or touch it because the 'zipper was breaking'
Once we arrived on the ship we had to wait a few hours until our room was ready. As soon as we got to our room-1:30 pm-he called his parents. He was out on the balcony and thought I couldnt hear him say 'im going to do it now I can't wait'
I got so nervous, my guess was dinner that night because he had insisted on reservations at the ships nicest resturant that evening.
I saw him go for his bag and then he asked me to step out onto the balcony.
I almost burst out laughing just from the stress and excitement and the way my heart was pounding. And even though i knew what he was going to ask me I nearly passed out when he did. The ring was more gorgeous than I could have imagined, the proposal was so over the top, our own private baclony on a disney cruise line, followed by drinks, a gourmet dinner, and tons of champange.
It took me forever to stop crying and laughing and compose myself. I didn't even want to call anyone to tell them i just wanted to enjoy that momement forever.
Later in the week thought we did 'recreate' the proposal in front of cinderella's castle. --his second choice
I couldn't be happier!
