July 2012 Weddings

Happy Monday!!!

Goood morning/afternoon knotties!! I hope you all had a great weekend! What are your WR &NWR NWR plans for this week??

Re: Happy Monday!!!

  • WR-work on editing the first draft of our ceremony and possibly checking out cake cutter sets.

NWR-  One of my best friend's birthdays on Friday, applying for my certification so I can FINALLY get a real grown up job, and FI finally is going to be done with the big case he's working on now which has been stressing him out like crazy. He hears back about his tests and stuff too so...vibes please! (the prilosec they gave him seems to be helping though)

I swear, the only good thing about Mondays is the Bachelor!

WR this week: try to figure out what to do about the escort and table number cards. I have no idea if I'm going to attempt to DIY them or order them and have a calligrapher write the names on the escort cards. I'm also going shopping with my mom this Saturday and she's hopefully ordering her dress for the wedding.

NWR: Not a whole lot out of the ordinary, which is good!

  • WR: Finally meeting with the bakery on Thursay! Was supossed to be last week but FI forgot and planned something else. Also, looking around at toasting glasses and cake cutting sets. And starting tears of joy packets as the stuf should come in the mail this week. Oh, and planning a girls day out with mom, FMIL, and BM for next week to get hair done (talk to the hairstylist) and eat at the restaurant my shower will be at.

NWR: Yesterday was FMIL's birthday. And FI forgot. So after work I am running out to get her a gift (thank g-d for pandora!) and then we are going to FIL house to se her. Then I have to go home and bake because tommorrow is cupcake wars at work. Also, keeping fingers crossed that FI will hear from the comedy club he auditioned for last week (the aformentioned plans he made). And enjoying work since next week is a week off (love working at a school!)

  • Ugh, this weekend was way too short!

WR: Continuing invites. I have them all printed, so now I'm moving onto the reply cards. They're smaller, but considerably more work since they have to be trimmed. Blech.

    NWR: Normal week!

  • WR- Nothing!!  Maybe try to get some more rhinestones glued onto my invites this weekend.

NWR-Working out and looking forward to 2 nice dinners with FI this week :)

  • WR: I have no interest in doing anything wedding related lately.  Everyone seems to be focused on my MOH's wedding that is in April, so we're going along with that.  (That sounds really whiny, but it was not intended to be haha).

NWR: FI's BM and wife invited us out to dinner at a semi-fancy restaurant tonight, and I think they're going to tell us they're pregnant so I'm excited to see if I'm right.  Also, our 1-year engagement anniversary is tomorrow so FI and I are going to the same restaurant we went to last year.  We were fighting over the weekend so I'm not feeling very romantic about it, though.

  • WR: who knows...maybe think about whether or not I'm doing OOT bags.
NWR: Bachelor Monday!  Church tonight, talking with my pastor about details of the wedding weekend, pre-marital counseling on Thursday, cleaning the apartment and maybe starting to pack things up since we're moving in a couple of weeks to a new apt.

  • The weekend was so relaxing and great that I don't mind that it's Monday! I have a 3 day weekend this weekend so I'm excited.

WR: Not sure yet, but just ordered a dress for a friend's wedding that FI and I are in (April 7) so I am hoping the dress will arrive on time! Kind of feels like we don't have a lot of WR stuff to do, but I know we should start making a music list (that is our nightmare, we're deaf!) and we should be doing some stuff but I can't think of what.

NWR: Work, work, work. Nothing exciting this week I don't think.

I won a free night at the Eatontown Sheraton from a bridal show I went to last year and Andrew was supposed to have taken it and booked our free room for this past weekend (it expires next weekend... we forgot about it)... I come to find out that he never used the voucher, and paid for the stupid room himself.  I was so mad he wasted almost $100 on a dumpy room and then thought I was dumb enough to not find out.  On top of that, when we got back to the room for the night, I had to use the bathroom and when I came back out (seriously, like 2 minutes later), he was PASSED OUT.  Are you kidding me?  We haven't had a night alone together in months, and here he is passed the f*ck out.  I tried to let it go but it made me seriously grumpy yesterday.

He struggled getting someone on the phone who knew what they were talking about to help him out with using it, so he gave up and just paid for the room instead of dealing with it.  Apparently money grows on trees in his world.

Not going to lie - I'm a lot like your FI. If something "free" becomes too much of a hassle, I just say ef it - and pay for it. Not that I'm unemployed and a full-time student - not so much. FI says I don't understand the value of money. :p I say - I work my booty off - and if just paying for something = less stress, I do it.

I'd be irritated if he just passed out though. FI does that kind of stuff too. As soon as we hit the bed, he's usually out. But then I get woken up at like 6:00am when he's suddenly ready. -_-

  • k888: i think your fiance and my fiance would get along great! not only is mine semi-narcoleptic, sometimes, before he falls asleep, he turns into a zombie-like person who speaks, but is in a daze, and is usually mean. most nights, there will be about 15 minutes worth of time before he falls asleep that he totally blacks out and doesn't remember the next morning!!

WR: putting down our deposit on our invitations! i am so excited, i have met an awesome seller/designer on etsy who is making us the most gorgeous custom invitations! we are also scheduling our tasting hopefully for early next month to finalize our reception menu.

we are also starting to write our ceremony since we succsesfully had our first meeting/counseling session with our minister last week (thank goodness it went really well!)

we also want to figure out our wedding party members - we need to decide which cousins are going to be ushers, and whether or not we are going to have two of our cousins serve as junior bridesmaids.

NWR: SO MUCH WORK TO DO THIS WEEK!!! i probably won't be on as much as i am sometimes because i really, really need to be productive...but maybe i will be productive in short periods of time and continue to use knotting as my break/reward for being productive :)
  • k888- I hate it when my FI just falls asleep even if we're bickering or if I'm mad at him. It feels like he doesn't care or it just doesn't bother him enough to keep him up. I cannot sleep if I'm fuming and I feel even more pissed if he is sleeping soundly while I'm mad at him. So I'd be really mad at your FI and would have woke him up! Haha, I hope things are better today. Maybe he'll be amazing now that it's Valentine's day tomorrow!

  • Well I'm glad I'm not the only one with a sleepy FI because it's a major source of frustration for me.  He's been known to fall asleep mid-conversation.  I'm not THAT boring.... hahaha.  It's hard to watch movies with him because he falls asleep within 15 minutes of starting it... almost every time.  I could empathize if he had a strenuous or physically-demanding job... but he doesn't.

It apparently runs in his family, too.  His grandfather used to drive across town to his house for visits... and take a nap in the driveway before even getting out of the car.

I'm of the mentality of "I'll sleep when I'm dead" so it's hard for me to not be mad at him over it sometimes.

  • k888: That's so annoying. I'd be pissed, too! My fiance is also quasi-narcoleptic whereas it takes me about 30 min to fall asleep at night, so I get so pissed off at him that's he's already asleep when I'm not!

WR: Waiting on second round of invitations from the designer. We picked out fiance's wedding band this weekend, though! And we worked on our registry, too.
I don't think I am going to do much WR stuff this week because we'll have a very WR weekend. On Saturday we are going to Philly so that we can meet with the wedding planner and with the caterer and I'm also trying to set up a meeting with the priest. We're going to do a walk-through at the venue and we're doing cake tasting! Yum. And we're setting our menu! Very big weekend. Trying to cram it all in :)

NWR: We're going to the Westminster Dog Show tonight at MSG! It was my Valentine's gift because I'm obsessed with dogs. Did you know you can actually pet and hang out with the dogs backstage? I am so excited I can barely get any work done right now!

  • This is the worst picture ever, but look! We went during our lunch break. You can walk around right where they're judging. You can also go "backstage" where the 2000 dogs (!!!) are being groomed/pampered. We saw this huge sheepdog! It was twice the size of me!

I know exactly what you mean. FI could fall asleep anytime anywhere, doesn't matter if I'm upset or not. Must be nice to be a man :-/
  • WR - This weekend I was fooling around with the Men's Wearhouse build-a-tux feature, and I came up with a really nice one: black tux, light pink vest and tie, light cream shirt. I ordered my dress with a light pink/blush band around the waist, but of course he doesn't know that. Showed it to FI. He balked, big time. The man who says he is color blind and can't tell one color from another definitely knew PINK when he saw it. I had a moment when I wanted to completely do the spoiled girl from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and stand on a table and yell "It's MY wedding and I want you to wear PINK!", but I didn't, and opted to give the kitchen sink a thorough scrubbing to vent. So, I might go over to MW to see what exactly this color pink is like, and I'll probably wind up going with some shade of white/cream for the vest and tie.

NWR - I knew things were going to start getting crazy at school, and they certainly did. Spent the day trying to figure out what went wrong with last week's lab, and am trying to make sure that this week's lab goes smoothly. Tomorrow I get to break a piece of steel in the lab, so that's exciting. School definitely takes over my life when things get going.
  • WR - I really need to talk to my FG/GM's parents this week/weekend about plans to meet up! I just realized that I'm 5 months out.  I also really need to start working on my programs for the wedding and hopefully I get the rest of my invitations this week.

NWR - Well working 6 days a week and close to 70 hours plus homework will eat up most of my time.  I am getting out "early" at 7 tonight to eat dinner with FI for Valentine's day.  We might go to the movies this weekend but that's it.

    Anniversary
