Save the dates - plus one?

We're about to send out our save the dates - ...is it necessary to put the plus one on the save the date? We don't want to lock down those numbers quite yet. any advice would be great!

No, in fact, it is best to only send them specifically to people who are invited because once the STD goes out to someone that person or +1 has to be on the wedding invitation as well.  Don't lock yourself into things.

I would def. say no at this point.  We were pretty conservative with our STDs, for example, we still hadnt decided to add kids or not so we would only write "Mr. and Mrs. Smith...", etc.  We saved our actual invites to include families, plus 1, etc

yeah, like PP.. just send it to the person that is on the invite.. the +ones can come later.

Ditto to what everyone else said. Definitely hold off, you'll never know where you'll end up numbers wise, and all sorts of things might pop up that will adjust the numbers before the actual invites go out.
