Ohio-Northeast

Medina???

Ok, I have posted a few times and I read the boards everyday. I am living in Akron, my Fiance lives in Elryia, that where his family is from, and then my family is from Ashtabula county. So we are all over Northeastern Ohio. Because of this I was thinking that planning a wedding in Akron my new home would be a good idea. But I have recently been driving through Medina to visit my FH and I have fallin in love with that little town. And it is about the same distant for my family to get to Medina that it would be to get to Akron. So, what do you gals know about Medina? Venues, What experiences do you have. Let me know everything. Thanks

We had ours at Vell's on Pearl Road. I will say the smallest room isn't the nice, so depending on how many people you are having that may be a problem. We had ours in the biggest room and it was very nice but I will warn you that they are your basic party center rooms. There isn't anything unusual or spectacular. However, they are very nice. And the prices and food are great!

Williams on the Lake is right up the road from Medina Square and it has beautiful grounds. It was on the pricey side for my large wedding, but it was definitely in our top two considerations!

Other Medina area venues to check out include: Caro's Party Center, Oaks Lodge, Blue Heron Country Club, Weymouth Country Club, the Medina Eagles Hall (can bring your own caterer), Galaxy restaurant and banquet ctr, Rustic Hills Country Club.Nearby, just north in Brunswick, you'll also find Skyview Lodge, Mapleside Farms (cute apple orchard, great for small weddings) and Diamond Event Center. You could always just use Medina locations for photos and have the ceremony/reception nearby.Good luck! Medina's definitely a cute place!

I live in Medina - and love the downtown environment.  I agree with Williams on the Lake - nice setting, friendly staff.  We are getting married at The Church at Stony Hill (on the other side of Medina - on Rt. 3). There are also a lot of parks in the area - if you are intersested in this type of backdrop for photography.

Not too far from Medina is Westfield Center, OH, where I got married. We got married at Blair Center there....one of the most beautiful places around...and I looked everywhere in NEO!!! If you'd like more info, you can email me at sarahroussos at gmail.com

FI lives in Medina, and after spending so much time down there I absolutely fell in love too! I wish we could live there, but both of our commutes would be insane. Williams on the Lake is gorgeous, but like PP said, very expensive. We're going to have our ceremony and reception both at The Galaxy in Wadsworth, which is very near Medina and Akron. Their prices are great for what is included, and although I haven't had the tasting yet, everyone who has eaten there raves about their food.

Any recommendations for picture locations in Medina?  We are getting married at St Francis on route 18, and our reception is at the Galaxy.  We are hoping to find someplace that is along the route.  I know about Lake Medina, but haven't seen pictures....and I just moved to WV!
