The morning of the proposal I received a call from the jewelry store asking me if Devin and I would be interested in coming in and seeing some new items they had received. I thought it was kind of strange they were calling me but told them I would be in as soon as I got off work. I then called Devin to make sure he could go with me and told him it was kind of weird that they called me and not him. A little bit later he text me and told me they called him too and said they couldn’t find his number before therefore they called me. (Good cover).
After I got off work we drove down to the jewelry store. Joe (the jeweler) took out some basic settings. He said he had another piece to show us and went to back to get it. He asked me if I remembered the African diamonds and how you can engrave whatever you want on the girdle of the diamond. He then told me to look at this certain one, he had never seen anything like it before. I looked into the microscope and read “Will you marry me”; I looked back at him giving him a funny look and looked down again reading “Will you marry me”. I looked up again and Joe told me I should turn around. I turned around to find Devin down on one knee. (Of course I said
YES!!!)
That night we were suppose to go to dinner with my parents and Devin’s parents (another clue that I didn’t pay attention to) but when we
got to the restaurant my whole family and Devin’s family were all there for a surprise engagement party. It was the best day!!
