Hi Everyone!
I've been on the knot for a while, but I've just recently discovered the discussion boards, so I thought I'd start by sharing my proposal story
I work as a bartender in a restaurant and that's actually how I met my fiance (he came in one day and sat at the bar, and I had picked up an extra shift) all day he had been acting kind of weird, he had a day off work that day and him and my sister took off for the day and didn't invite me which isn't really strange in itself because they get along really well and are always doing stuff together, what was weird was that he wasn't answering his phone and my sister wasn't answering hers either. So skip forward a bit and he drops me off at work, it's the busiest night of the summer and I tell him that I'll probably be off late, an hour or so later him and my whole family (my mom, dad, grandma, brother, sister and my brothers girlfriend) walk in and sit down in my already full section, the host is acting really strange too and starts taking drink and food orders for other tables in my section (also not all that weird because we were super busy and I thought she was trying to be helpful), so he asks me to sit with him for a few minutes because he needs to talk to me about something important. I tell him that he'll have to wait until after I'm off work because we're just to busy for me to stop and sit down to talk, then I walked away, I came back a few minutes later and he grabs me by the arm and pulls me down into a chair he had pulled out for me, I'm a little more caught up now so I sit for a second and he starts talking to me, I wasn't really listening all that closely because I had 100 other things running through my head, then he bends over and I thought he was tying his shoe, then something catches my eye and I realize what's going on. I wasn't expecting to get engaged until christmas so it totally took me off guard. By now my whole section has also realized what's going on and everybody has stopped and is staring, then he looked at me and said "I know you weren't listening before..so I'll say it again..I love you so much, and I was wondering if you want to get married?"...Then I started crying and said yes! and my whole section started clapping, my boss sent me home shortly after that so I could enjoy the rest of my evening. It was by far the best night I've ever had at work!
