Just Engaged and Proposals

Engaged this past April

My fiance and I got engaged this past April 23. However this was my last year of law school so I was busy with finals and studying for the bar, so I wasn't able to post the story of our engagement! But now that the Bar is done and I have so free time I figured that I would write a post.

My fiance and I have been together for 8 years. I met him summer going into my senior year of high school! For our first Christmas together he took me to a place in PA outside of Philly called Longwood Gardens. They set up the gardens with Christmas lights every year; its beautiful! We have made it a tradition to go over Christmas. The Gardens are also open in the Spring and Summer as well and we heard that it was beautiful there. So after we went for Christmas this year, my fiance suggested that we go out for a "date day" to Longwood Gardens during the spring before I graduated from Law School and started studying for the Bar. We planned to go the weekend of Easter.

I came home from school the weekend of Easter and had no clue what was about to happen. That morning it was raining, so I suggested that we not go because most of the gardens were outside. My Fiance said that we could always just walk around the conservatories if it continued to rain. I went with his plan and as soon as we got to the gardens it stopped raining.

When we got to Longwood Gardens, we walked around the gardens for a while and then we got to our favorite spot and I suggested that we take a picture, because we take a picture there every Christmas. He said "we'll take one later because no one is around to take it right now." I said ok and then he suggested that someone should take our picture from above (where we were standing at the time it was like a balcony) while we stand down below. We are known for trying to get really cute pictures so I didn't think anything of it. I told him that I didn't want to give my camera to anyone because it was my Dad's camera and if someone stole it, he would kill me. So, my fiance suggested that we get a security guard at Longwood Gardens to take it. We walked around for a little bit longer and then he spotted a security guard and he took my camera and gave it to the security guard. We went down to take a picture, and after the security guard gave us the thumbs up that we were done, he got down on one knee and said that I have made him the happiest man alive for the last 8 years and asked if I would continue to make him the happiest man alive and spend the rest of my life with him. All I could say was OMG are you kidding me, r u kidding me??? And then of course I said yes and I balled like a baby (and I never cry!).

After the proposal he took me into Philadelphia and we stayed overnight at the Hyatt and had dinner at the Chart House. While we were at dinner my amazing friends snuck into our hotel room and decorated it with rose petals and candels, it was so sweet!

It was the most amazing day of my life and I will never forget it!
