I got engaged Saturday night! It was the most perfect night ever! My fiance took me down to Savannah, GA for my "Christmas present," and little did I know I would be getting the best present ever! Here's my story:
Saturday afternoon one of my best friends who lives near Savannah came to see me while we were down there. She and I were going to go shopping on River Street while Ben(my fiance) went with his friends Kenny and Justina to go look at some of the historic buildings. Later my friend suggested we go take a picture by the river, so we did and then all of the sudden she takes her scarf off and says "I'm gonna have to blindfold you now" and I was like "Umm Kierstin what are you doing" and she said that we were going to go to some store but we had to go through the ghetto and she didn't want me to see it haha. So she leads me blindfolded to her car which is like 10 minutes away and we drive for forever. When we finally get to where we're going she gets me out of the car and leads me to a door and takes off my blindfold. There is Kenny with a rose, he tells me to go on up. I realized I was at the bottom of the Tybee Island Lighthouse. So I start going up with Kierstin and Kenny and about halfway up is Ben and my friend Bryan, who I had no idea was in Savannah until then, and he has a rose. I climb almost to the top and there is Ben's best friend, Shawn with a rose also. We all finally get to the top where Ben is, and its right after sunset (cause Kierstin and I were late of course haha) but the sky was still streaked over the ocean a little bit. He hands me a present tells me to unwrap it. I open the present and there is a scarf with a monogram... it wasn't my monogram, its what my new monogram will be. I look at him and he's just smiling at me. He then says, "I have a confession..." and tells me to turn around. Behind me is Kierstin and Justina, and my little sister, Morganne! I started crying and turned around to him he's down on one knee and says my favorite quote from my favorite movie, Pride and Prejudice (he added a little to make it personal), asks me to marry him, and pulls out my beautiful ring. I think I just stood there smiling and in shock for forever and then finally I remembered I hadn't said yes yet! So I basically shout "Of course I'll marry you!"
It was wonderful and perfect! He had been planning it for over 4 months and was talking to our friends and arranged all of them to come and be there for our special day! I can't wait to actually be able to start planning a wonderful wedding now!
