Wanting for the ring is driving me nuts!

My boyfriend and I have decided not to go public with our engagement until I have the ring on my finger. But, the ring is now coming in about three weeks later then the store told us it would. It's driving me crazy! It was supposed to be in tomorrow and we've already been waiting two weeks. Is anyone else only semi-engaged?

Thanks! We consider ourselves engaged but everyone, except for our parents, think we're still just dating. That's what's driving me crazy. I just want to let everyone know we're engaged. I'm so happy and excited I think I'm going to bust! But he wants to actually wants to propose with the ring.

No venue yet, so the 27th isn't set in stone. But it's a date that's important to us.

My FI asked me to marry him in Mexico in Nov/11 and I had to wait and not tell anyone ( which we both failed at, managed to not tell his family or their friends) till, well I didnt know when, his parents have some misgivings about us, lol. He finally asked on Dec 18th 2012 at a dinner party I had set up so we could tell everyon we were moving in together. And he had decided last minute apparently lol, we had had the ring for months and I wasnt allowed to touch it lol. And we had a few unexpected waiting periods for the ring too, they sent it out 3 times to get sized and every time it came back just polished . Was so happy when it came in, of course I didnt get to wear it.. But still . I totally understand wanting it to done with and the stress of not telling anyone

I have had my ring sized a few times and each time it took about 2 weeks, once a diamond fell out and it took 6 weeks, so I can understand wanting your ring now and then having it delayed.

I'm in the same boat!! The only people that know about our engagement is us, my best friend (well, 1 out of the 2), and you all here on TK. We're also waiting until I get a ring, but that won't be for a while, unfortunately.

I'm in the same situation! The ring was suppose to be here before Christmas (I later found out he was planning to officially propose then), but is still not here. The suspense is killing me

if it makes you feel any better, i'm in the same boat, our immediate families know but he wants to do an official proposal with the ring, and we have now got the date, the hall, the flowers, the photographer, the DJ, photo booth, invitations and save the dates. its driving me nuts!!!

     I completely understand your impatience!! My FI and I decided to get married but there is no ring yet.  He is saving a little money before he gets it because we are not fans of buying things on credit.  Although we have told some friends casually, I haven't told my family yet because there is no ring yet. (That would be important to them) We have started to plan a little bit but it is driving me nuts to not tell my family yet.
     But anyway... CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Enjoy this time as a little secret between you and your FI.  This way you can have an idea of what kind of wedding you two want!

Yes and yes!  We have our venue, date, minister etc. planned, but the ring will be officially paid off the last week in March (two more payments - we didn't want debt either) and then we can FINALLY tell the world.  A bunch of people already know because we're having the wedding in California where I'm from, but we live in England, and people across the world need time to plan.    I can't wait to GO PUBLIC with the whole thing.  I've told my best friends I'm in the wedding closet and I can't wait to come out!

I am too in the same boat........a miserable boat that seems to get further and furhter away from the land of engaged. The boyfriend wanted to pay the entire ring off, and i'm nosey so i've had my eyes wide open just waiting. well, Saturday I asked how much longer, and he said the jeweler sent the center stone back becuase it was not as clear as he would have like it.....I proceded to cry in the middle of Bob Evans with everyone looking at me strange........its been a rocky road. just good to know I am not completely alone. The longer he waits the less time I have to plan a Black Friday wedding day.......

I know the feeling!!! I've actually seen the ring, know where its hiding and everything! We are going on a trip to one of my favorite places next weekend and I know it's going to happen on that trip but this wait is killing me! Haha, hopefully he asks at the beginning of the trip so I can stop obsessing!

got my ring last night ladies.........its worth the wait. : )
