Inter-faith/Non-denominational..aka not your average officiant

My fiance and I live in Northern California, but we are coming back to his home of Ohio for the wedding. He's a non-practicing Lutheran and I might be best described as a Universalist. I've found one woman online, Reverend Susanna Margaret Goulder, but seeing as I don't have the pleasure of meeting in person with an officiant to get to know them, I'm wary. I'd like someone who won't scare the crap out of my parents or his family, but who would be very comfortable with helping us create a very personal ceremony. Any help would be appreciated.

Nora with Uniting Hearts would do an excellent job for you. Friends of mine have used her and loved her. She's easy to work with and will give you whatever ceremony style you want. She's also very nice (I've met her in person). Google for the web site.

Nora (pper metioned) was awesome when I spoke with her and I don't think she's ever received a bad review on here since I've been around (3yrs or so). When are you looking at having your ceremony? I have another suggestion, but it depends on how far out your date is.

We're members of Unitarian Universalist Church of Kent and used the minister, Melissa Carvill-Ziemer.  She encouraged us to go outside of the religion itself and really look at different ceremonies/rituals.  She even gave us a book of different interfaith ceremonies.  I think her fee is $100 for people not members of the church.  You can contact her through the church; their number is 330-673-4247

I saw a wedding done by Rev. Jon Miller - http://www.unitywedding.com/- and he did a very nice job.  Also - Stephen Ayotte at http://www.ohioweddingminister.com/index.htmlwas an extremely personable officiate and nothing like I expected from a Fr. and Rev. - I would highly recommend.

Multiple people have recommended Nora with Uniting Hearts, but I'm wondering, have they recently gone out of business? They haven't returned our email and when we called, there was no answer or answering machine.
