Every year, my family takes a trip somewhere for July 4th holiday. This year, we escaped to our favorite beach spot, Destin, Florida. This year also included my boyfriend and his 5 year old son.
For the fireworks on Wednesday night, we set our chairs down at the beach and watched a brilliant show and enjoyed the evening. After it was over, my bf mentioned that he stepped on something in the sand (it was dark, so we were all fumbling around). When my dad got his phone light out, my bf was kneeling in the sand with an antique shell box in his hand. Inside was the ring that my grandfather proposed to my grandmother with, and she wore for the 50 years of their marriage!!!
We're crossing our fingers for a May 18th wedding, if we can get the venue we want!
