Engagement Party Traditions?!

does anyone know of any Engagement Party Traditions? im the first "grandaughter" to be married and i dont want to dissapoint at the party. can anyone help!? :D thanks!!

    I don't know of any traditions.  The parties I attended were hosted by a close friend or family member and we just mingled and drank and ate hors d'oeuvres.  At one guests brought gifts but usually no gifts were given.

    In some places, it isn't even custom to have an engagement party, so I don't think there are any "traditions".
