How to get the marriage license?

FI and I are getting married Oct 24. It just popped in my head: we probably both have to be there to get the marriage license. With our work schedules that will be hard to coordinate!Any advice on what all we need to do to get the license?

    Since an Ohio license is good for 60 days from date of issue, you could even do it the week or two before your wedding. Coordinate your and FI's day off (or morning off, or afternoon off) so you can both be there. Maybe make it a day you'd be taking off any way to take care of vendor meetings or tours or other wedding related activities. Or, if you and FI work near the court, meet there at lunchtime or mid-afternoon. One way or another, you both have to be there. And, bring CASH. Cuyahoga county is $40, IIRC.

    Medina county was SUPER simple. Went up with cash and our drivers license and that was it. The hardest part was getting the day off! But we did utilize that day to get other stuff done as well.

    Unfortunately, I just started a new job so get no paid time off and have a few weekend trainings I'm working to log adjusted hours so I get some pay the week I'm off for the wedding. I will have to see if there's a chunk of time I can take off at lunch when FI is off for the day.

    no, you need a marriage license to get your name changed after the wedding!
