I 'm still a little new to the board, but here is my proposal story

My amazing fiance, Tommy, and I were, unofficially, engaged when we were on a vacation at Disneyland. We were there celebrating our three-year anniversary, and we were both pretty excited!
It was the last night that we were there, and we had just finished watching the fireworks from our hotel room. We were going to watch them at the park, but it was way too crowded and the strollers hitting our ankles didn't really set the mood for Tommy.
When the fireworks had ended, I was turning on the light and closing the curtains of our window. I turned around, and there he was, on one knee with a beautiful claddagh ring. He told me how much he loved me, and how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I started crying immediately, and he took my hand and asked, "Will you marry me?" Of course, I said yes!
A little while later, Tommy decided that he wanted to do it the right way. We were visiting my dad in Santa Cruz and while in a bookstore, I wandered off and during this time, he asked for my dad's permission to marry me. My dad was thrilled and gave him his blessing.
Even though my original engagement ring was beautiful, I didn't get my real one until just recently. Tommy had it custom made in San Francisco, and gave it to me a few days before Thanksgiving so that I could show it off to all of my family.
I know our engagement isn't the most ordinary, but it works for us!
