I'm absolutely in total bliss right now. Adam came down to see me this past weekend (we live in two different cities) and was acting kind of antsy the whole time. Finally on the night before he was supposed to leave, he asked if we could go driving for a bit. We drove around and found a place to park, look at the stars, and talk. About a half hour of talking about anything and everything, he took my hands, looked me in the eyes, and said "Julia, I love you. I want to spend the rest of forever with you. What do you say; do you want to get married?"
He had no ring but honestly I could care less. He said he wants to wait and buy the ring when he has a little more money saved up. As much as he wants to buy me a ring right now, he knows it'd be better financially to wait. I told him he didn't have to buy the ring at all, but he's stubborn and insisting on it. He just couldn't wait any longer to ask if I wanted to get married!
So now we're just chilling out. We haven't really told anyone yet. My parents are going through a bit of a hard time right now financially (Honestly, who isn't?) and even though we know they'd be happy for us, they're the type of people that would feel the absolute need to pay for it. We're having a really small wedding, but we don't want to stress them out like that. So we're just enjoying being together. We aren't going to plan too much aside from the where do we want to hold it, who do we want there, and when would we ideally like to have the wedding. We're just going to spend our days happy that we've decided to spend the rest of our lives together.
