MA Bride Needs Help In Ohio

Hello Fellow Brides-To-Be! This is my first time posting a question on here. I really need help. I have lived in Massachusetts all my life and I fell in love with a wonderful man from Akron Ohio. Due to an important family member being ill and unable to travel long distances, our wedding is being set in Ohio. I am trying to plan a simple but very elegant farm house wedding reception and I cant find any places near the Akron area. I am open to any suggestions that you may have. We can travel probably up to 2 hours away from Akron. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much! Kerrin Marie

Hi and welcome! The girls here are fantastic so I have no doubt that we will be able to help you with some suggestions. I planned my Ohio wedding from NY and wouldn't have been able to do it without the help of this board Can you tell us how many people you are thinking of inviting? Thank you for the suggestion. I will definately look up that site. We are thinking about having around 100 guests...give or take. We are in the very beginning stages of planning and dont even have a guest list made! We just know that we want it cozy, comfortable, yet elegant. Thanks again for the help! Kerrin Marie

You  may want to look at Stan Hywet mansion. Not farmhouse, but farm-esque. Beautiful grounds and gardens!!

QuailCrest is a beautiful place in Wooster and there is also Botzum farm 2 minute from Hale Farm. There is also the Walden in Aurora http://www.quailcrest.com/ http://www.botzum.org/rental/ http://www.yourwalden.com/ All these places are within 1/2 hour to 40 min from Akron. Good Luck!

You can also try The Lodge at Fieldcrest in North Canton, which is about 30 mins south of Akron.http://www.fieldcrestofnc.org/lodge.htmlI loved it but they had a 150 person minimum for Saturday weddings and 100 person minimum for Fridays and we're only have approx. 80. But it's gorgeous!

Hi! Are you interested in getting married at a winery? There is a winery in Navarre, which is a little southwest of Canton. They are called Perennial Vineyards. A couple that is friends with our photgraphers got married there. You can see a few of their pictures at atudionow dot com. They are toward the end, the ones with a big blue sky & gorgeous sunset.
