Most unique proposal ever!

So my now fiance and I had been talking about getting engaged for a little while when my parents offered to take us to Europe with them when they went. Being in Europe sounded like the greatest place to get engaged! So I hinted to my guy that I really wanted to get engaged in front of the Eiffel Tower. Paris comes and goes, no engagement. It wasn't until an entire week later that he finally got the nerve to ask me, but he didn't think it out at all. We were just getting ready to go to sleep and he rolls over and pops the question. I thought he was kidding, he asked me three times before I actually realized he was serious. I said yes of course, but then I playfully scolded him for not getting down on one knee. So of course, being the smart a** he is he got out of bed, went into the bathroom, striped, came out and proposed to me butt naked.

I guess no proposal can ever be perfect, at least mine is unique. And I have something to laugh about. Love him

Wow.  To each their own?  Not sure smacking him was a great idea either...maybe he wanted a more private/intimate proposal?

I think it is perfect....all but the slapping lol.....I mean obviously the simplicity of every day life with you makes him so happy and in love with you that even just the thought of falling asleep next to you made him realise he wanted to fall asleep next to you every night for the rest of his life...way better than paris.

i would actually prefer that.  getting engaged in front of the eiffel tower is so cliche (as is valentines day, christmas, birthdays, etc).  i think its nice to make the proposal it's own event, day and location.  and coming back out on one knee butt naked is definitely anything but cliche. lol

For some reason, I was thinking you hauled off and just outright hit him.  I stand corrected at a playful slap instead.  However, I think your proposal is unique and that does make it special in it's own way...so you should definitely be proud that he did really try to make it "different" (maybe a bit odd for some) but different nonetheless.

I think its cute... given that you didn't just smack the crap outta the poor guy, haha. My fi had a HUGE plan of popping the question late night on the beach, however, my best friend ended up changing one of her shower dates to that same afternoon, and nixed our plan of going to the beach (i had no idea what he had in mind, so of course i was going to be there for her shower -i was moh). he ended up popping the question in our bedroom when I had just got out the shower, so I was naked. haha. People get engaged at the Eifel Tower everyday, but not many girls get engaged by their naked loves!!

My boyfriend planned to propose at the beach

Well we woke up in the mroning (we had been staying down at the beach). and it was pouring rain/lightening/thunder. He was so upset about it. he kept insisting we go to the beach.... (apparently he had plans to propose, by gathering rocks and shells at the beach, showing them to me until I was getting bored of it, and the shoe me one final "rock")
so instead we went to brunch- and as we were getting ready,. he was taking too longer, and kept insisitng there was a rock in his shoe. i was getting annoyeed and turned around to almost trip over him. he was on one knee

it wasnt what i picutured. to be there brushing my hair and annoyed with him and turning around and finding a ring but the more people i told the story to, the more people were liek "Thats sooo you guys, to be all flustered, and him there, just doing what felt right" because we are like a dishoveled, do anything at the drop of a hat couple.... and so with you guys, i think its the same...
iwehn you think about it. its probably very you. he prob was laying there thinking he couldnt go another day without asking you! and he did it.
although ya, i love a guy on bended knee too.

one other thing to mention. not to scold you. but when i wasnt so keen on my engagment becaus eit wasnt as "perfect " as i imagined,,, he could tell. and my fiance felt really uspet about it, because hes liek "i wanted to be engaged-- it didint matter how to me--- and it feels like you care more about tne Engagment story than us being engaged-- and what that means" .... so i got over it really quick

You guys are right. I never really looked at it that way.

12012do: When I got my ring when we got home the same thing happened to us, I was mad that I got a letter saying I couldn't where a dress to my college graduation. He tapped me on the shoulder and I snapped at him a little bit and turned around and there he was on one knee reproposing to me with a ring this time. I definitely started to cry and forgot all about how made I was at my school.

I guess my proposal wasn't exactly the way I dreamed that it would be, but it definitely is a unique story.

And just for the record: I did not beat the crap out of him, I playfully tapped him.

He's definitely a unique individual that's for sure. And I love him for it.

After making this post about my proposal and reading everyones comments; it made me realize that I should be grateful. I am grateful that he even asked. I have friends that have been with their loved ones for 13 years and the significant other doesn't believe in marriage. So I am grateful, thanks for humbling me.

At least he had the courage to propose.  You'd be so suprised that a lot of engagements don't happen because the guys have cold chicken feet.
