Engaged 4 days ago.....Engagement gift for him??

Hey I'm recently engaged and have heard of people giving gifts to him after the proposal. Anyone do this? Any gift ideas?

If you want to get him something, awesome.  To a lot of guys, saying yes is a present in an of itself.  But if you want to get him something, go for it!  I think anything goes with engagement gifts for guys.  A friend of mine got her FI an HDTV that he had wanted, others I know have gotten modest bands for their fingers, etc.  I am saving up (hard to do as a student) to get FI a nice watch with the back plate engraved with our engagement date and our nicknames for each other.

Ours was kind of a joke.  I had a memory foam pillow that he would always steal, so after he bought my engagement ring (he proposed first, then bought the ring) he jokingly complained I should get him one as an "engagement gift."  So I did, mostly as a "thank you for spending way too much money on me" thing.

Not super-meaningful, but he thought it was a sweet gesture.  And it's useful!

Since my FI prposed the day before His birthday , the next day while He was at work i went shopping and prepared a perosnalized and special candleight dinner. i found out NO ONE had ever done that for Him before and it meant more than anything else. I also took heart shaped post it notes to quote memorable sayings or songs we shared through our relationship and long distance aspects , which i lined the area around the table with. In my opinion make it personal and special and it dosen't have to be necessarily be very materialistic , just make it about him Good luck and congrats to you both!

I think the wedding date might be more useful, that way, he can always look to remind himself of when to get your anniversary gift. hehe.

I got my fiance an engagement ring of his own. He wanted one, and I surprised him with it (and a sneaky return proposal) yesterday.

my guy loves scrapbooks and the only tv he ever watches is dexter or weeds, which he always always watches on the internet anyway. he would give me the most confused face if i presented him with HD.  and i got him an engagement ring because i did the proposing. different strokes for different folks (he still loves a bj like every other man, though. )

OMG! I had NO idea people do engagemnet gifts!!! We got engaged on Thanksgiving day...i'm SO too late, huh? Now I feel bad!!!
