I'm not the kind of girl who's wedding fantasy has been to crown myself princess for a day. Nor have I ever thought I'd use the word fairytale... However, being a native So Cal girl, I do have the underlying weakness for Disneyland and all it's magic that will, somehow, never get old.
When my fiancee and I started dating we discovered each other's inner Disney geek (yep, he's got it too!). It became our special little novelty that we shared. We celebrated our first New Year's Eve there, bought annual passports, and we try to go once a month just to escape together. We also started a tradition of making a wish at Snow White's Wishing Well on every visit...
Yesterday I made my wish at the Wishing Well and when I opened my eyes after tossing my penny in, I saw him take the ring from his pocket and get on his knee.
I know for certain that I'm in the best relationship of my life because this man has truly made me feel like a princess; that moment, the place, the sentiment, and his words... "I'm wishing for you to be my wife, will you marry me?"
What can I say... I had a princess proposal and I can't imagine it any better. I love that we had our moment there, just the two of us, and that we managed to infuse our engagement with a touch of Disney magic, but in a private way. Besides, love like ours really is a fairytale!
