Newly engaged!!! ...and introducing myself :)

Hi! I have been lurking on the knot for quite a while now, but I just got engaged on December 28th, so I thought I would finally pop in and introduce myself! It still feels very surreal to be engaged! My fiance and I have been together for over 7 years, so I am super excited to be engaged. He proposed to me in the North Carolina mountains in Little Switzerland. It is a very special place to us, and we both love it there. We were on a walking trail, and we stopped at an overlook with a beautiful view. That's when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was a perfect proposal for us, quiet and intimate, in one of our favorite places. My ring is also very special because it has a center diamond that has been in his family for over a hundred years, so it officially connects me to his family.

We haven't yet announced it to my sisters, because we live in a different city from the rest of my family. I can't wait to announce it to everyone close to us. I think it will feel more official after that.

CONGRATS! Doesn't hit feel great, I got engaged on Christmas day and have been with my FI for 4 1/2 years and have seen and been in many of my friends weddings, so i'm so glad that its finally my turn. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" />
