I do everyday now!
John and I don't get to see one another very often, so everytime I see him the thought of a proposal is always in the back of my mind. But when he came home for a 10 day leave from the Navy and 8 days went by with nothing, I dismissed it from my mind.
I had been waking up early every morning that John had been home, but on this particular morning I slept until 10:30! John must have been subtly trying to wake me up and, still half asleep, I threw my arm over his. I felt something unusual and heavy on my hand and I first thought, "hmm, I didn't wear my (fashion) ring to bed..". Then I realized what hand it was on and with wide eyes threw my hand up right in front of my face and just stared at a beautiful 1c round solitaire. When I finally really woke up and realized what was happening I jumped up and screamed, "Are you serious!??". He then proceeded to proclaim his love for me and ask me to marry him!! Still in a state of shock, I said "Of course!"
Turned out he had put the ring on my finger at 7:30am, expecting that I would wake up soon. He sat on the bed waiting for me to wake up for 3 hours! What a trooper. I also have to give him props for picking out such a beautiful ring! I didn't get an opinion at all, but he did an amazing job and it is just perfect!
