When you know, you just know!!!
My fiance and I dated for 4 1/2 years- 2 years were long distance! But we survived and our relationship thrived! And here we are planning our wedding. I'm moving to Texas with him in about 2 weeks while he finishes up graduate school!!
His proposal was perfect. That week I had gone with him to the jewelers to pick out a setting so I knew an engagement was coming and it wasn't a surprise (but with my personality, it would be impossible to surprise me!!). After dinner and drinks, we went to a beautiful spot on the St. John's River in Jacksonville. He began to tell me how special I was to him and how he knew we'd grow old together and live beautiful lives. I could see he was getting nervous and before I knew it, he was on one knee with a gorgeous solitaire diamond ring sparkling in front of me and asked me to marry him! I cried (read: wept) and said yes (he doesn't remember me saying yes) and made him step away from the river's edge before taking the ring out of the box! Haha. We celebrated with desert at our favorite restaurant in Jacksonville and returned to his family's house to officially share the good news (they all knew it was coming too). I couldn't have asked for a more perfect proposal.
I'll be planning the wedding long distance from Texas (we're getting married in Jax) so that should be interesting! Any advice is always appreciated!!
