Well, afer 5 years of dating I'm engaged! I've been waiting for this day for a while now. I work as a Bridal Consultant at Alfred Angelo and weddings are on my mind 24/7. However, now that we're engaged I'm moving off to the other side of the country for a two year commitment with Teach for America. So now it begins... planning a wedding in Tucson, AZ from New Haven, CT.
David took me out to a romantic dinner and then we star gazed at a local park we've been to many times. After a long while of talking there was a natural pause only to be interupted by David exclaiming "You've got ants all over you!". My natural response was to freak out and jump up, but when I turned around I found David down on one knee. He had champagne and fruit waiting at my apartment. He did a lovely job and proposed in true David fashion! Plus, the ring is amazing too:
Needless to say, I'm excited for this next chapter in our lives... even if it does require two years of the long distance thing.
