My fiance and I have known each other since high school... but didn't start dating until I moved home from college. By the time that happened, he had already enlisted in the Navy and was waiting to leave for boot camp. Last weekend was his graduation, which of course I atteneded with his family-after 9 weeks of no communication NO WAY was I going to miss my chance to finally see him again!
So the graduation was on Friday and on Saturday we went into Chicago for the day, we were walking through Millenium Park looking at the different sculptures and art works when he pulled me over to look at the view of the city from this particular spot. I was standing in front of him and then he said "I have something to ask you," so I turned around, holding my phone, camera and his drink in my hand, and as I was turning around he was pulling the ring out of his pocket and getting down on his knee! I was completely surprised and was not expecting it at all! All he said was "Will you marry me?" and I said "of course." Then he managed to put the ring on my finger depsite everything I was holding, and when he stood up I asked if I could kiss him now, because he's not supposed to in uniform, and he said yes, then apparently we drew a crowd because people started clapping.
So I have been engaged to my handsome Sailor since 9/10/11 and am so thrilled!
