What do you think about colored diamonds?

Just wondering what people think about colored diamond e-rings? I love to be different. Please comment and post pics of your own colored diamonds. I would love to see them.

Mine is 1.5 carat black diamond with .5 carat white diamonds set in 14 karat white gold.

Re: What do you think about colored diamonds?

  • I think everyone has different tastes, and the e-ring (just like any other jewelry/attire) should reflect that.
As long as you love it, that's fantastic.
  • My e-ring is a sapphire with small diamonds on either side.  I absolutely love it, and love being non-traditional.  Your ring is beautiful!
  • I hope one day to upgrade to a pink diamond.

  • Like PP said all that matters is that you like it.

I happen to be a fan of coloured e-rings but don't have one. I was previously engaged and had a sapphire ring. This time around I have a white sapphire (I didn't want a diamond but also didn't want a ring that was too similar to the previos one).

  • I agree with PP.. it should reflect you and your FI! Is the ring in your post yours or just one that you like? It's pretty.

  • I have a regular diamond engagement ring.  My wedding band has black, chocolate and white diamonds.  We actually  got it in the fashion jewelry section instead of the wedding section.  I love it and I get tons of compliments on it.
    ROCK IS KING!!
  • I love my blue diamond : )

[QUOTE]OP, check out the "Show Off Your Rings!" thread at the top for more ring photos. Hoboken, don't you have a three stone ring?  Would you just upgrade the middle one?

  • I have white diamonds for my wedding band and e-ring, but one day, I would absolutely love to have a claddagh ring with a blue diamond for the heart stone as a right hand ring.

  • I love coloured diamonds! I wanted a chocolate diamond, but FI got me a regular white one. Which is fine, I'm not complaining! Chocolate diamonds are cheaper, but apparently really hard to find.
  • I have seen some beautiful colored diamonds! It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, just remember that.

He stole my heart, so I'm stealing his last name.
  • I don't have a colored diamond but I do have a violet sapphire, and I love it.

I like your ring and agree that color can be gorgeous and if that's what you want that you're going to love forever, go for it.  Some of the designs with black, blue and yellow diamonds are very striking.  One of fiance's closest friends who is in our wedding party gave his wife an engagement ring that is silver tone with a sapphire or blue diamond in the middle.

My ring does have a white diamond in the center, but I kind of always wanted that because it's my birthstone, I even joked after fiance gave it to me that I finally had a birthstone ring!  However, I liked the idea of color and liked the wrap that fiance's sister got for a wedding band which puts a ruby (her birthstone) on either side of her white diamond solitaire.  So for my wedding band I got a wrap which will put an emerald (fiance's birthstone) on either side of the diamond.
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • I love colored stones in general. I always thought I wanted a colorless diamond, until I saw this one!

MIne too!!  And I love my ring so much!!  I didn't want a diamond.  And sapphire is my FI's birthstone, so it has extra meaning!!  For that matter, when I was engaged before, my E-ring was an opal (my birthstone) and I loved that too.  :)

The pic I have is too big for this, but here is a link to it.
