We love to travel, in fact, we feel that our desire to travel the world and learn about new cultures is something that defines us as a couple. One year and eight months into our relationship we decided that since we were short on cash that we would take a road trip and visit a few different places. We started our trip by staying one night in New Orleans eating beignets and drinking coffee before heading to Atlanta, GA. We also visited Augusta and Savannah but if I go into all the details of the trip this story would get very long. Our last destination for our trip was Charleston, SC. This historic city is rich with vibrant colors and stories that you remember listening to as young child sitting at your grandfathers feet. Our second day in the city we were picked up at our bed and breakfast, which was a stones throw away from the water, for a private carriage tour narrating the history of the city. The carriage ride ended at a location called The Battery which is a specific part of the peninsula made up of a park known as White Point Gardens. This park is where the soldiers camped out before the civil war and is known for its beautiful view of the water, gardens, and a gazebo built for a father by his daughter as a gift for giving her the perfect wedding. We started to walk through the park and decided to see the view from the gazebo where he then took my hands, spoke words that will resonate with me forever, got down on one knee as asked me to marry him. All I could mutter out was of course! He hired a professional photographer to catch the whole thing and then take us on a two hour photo shoot throughout the beautiful city! There was champagne, flowers, and stacks of bridal magazines waiting for me when we returned to the hotel. I was a fairy tale princess and I have a wonderful prince.
