Is this a good proposal?

My girlfriend of three years and I are going to Atlantis in the Bahamas in a few weeks. We're both 27 and I've spent night after night thinking of a proposal idea (I really want to do it there). So far, all I could think of was: Wait in line for the Leap of Faith slide (the one that goes into the shark tank) and right before, say something along the lines of, ""But just in case I don't make it back, *gets down on one knee* will you marry me?" or "Will you take the leap with me, and marry me?" I've never really seen a proposal before, so if this sucks, just keep in mind that I'm pretty clueless about this stuff. Any beter ideas? Thank you!

What if you drop the ring into the pool. Or into the shark tank... (WTH)? I don't think this is a good idea at all. I think it'll be special enough to have the proposal while on vacation. Obviously I don't know what your girlfriend will like or not like, but if I were you I'd keep it simple.

And I would do it close to the beginning of the trip a) so you can enjoy the rest of the trip without being nervous and antsy and b) so that you both can celebrate and enjoy being engaged for the majority of the trip.

Listen, you don't have to make any type of "production" of your proposal.  Just be yourself and it will be great.
How about on your first morning there, surprise her with breakfast in bed and a proposal?  That would be very romantic!  I know a lot of resorts do private dinners on the beach, you could plan something like that as well.

I agree with CW- I would do it at the beginning of the trip. If you do decide to go with your slide plan I would leave the ring in the room so it doesn't get lost in the water. I never go swimming with my rings on.

I think this is really sweet. But, I personally would find it corny... but maybe that your thing? Maybe she would adore it??? But yes, don't bring the ring if thats what youre doing and make sure you do it in the begining so you can spend the week celebrating!!

I echo PPs and would not do it at the top of the slide--way too risk to drop the ring (what if she's so excited she fumbles and knocks the ring out of your hand, or drops it while you put it on her finger?)  Your proposal will be special no matter what because of the significance.  Why not do it at the start of your trip over dinner your first night?

Personally I think this isreally cute! I love corny, but that is just me! If you propose at the top of the slide, do it before you actually step into the slide. If you are just on the platform, I would think dropping it on accident would be fine! But then you would have the awkward few minutes either waiting at the top of the slide for your turn, or her waiting at the top like "Yay! I am engaged! My fiance just went down a slide though.. so I will just stand here silently to myself awkward in front of strangers..."

I think this is kind of awkward because usually there are lines and you will be rushed. I also think it is adorable (especially the first one). What if you combined the first idea and a "safer"/simpler/more private proposal? For instance... you say at the top of the slide "just in case I don't come back, I want you to know you are the love of my life" or something cute, and then that night plan a big special dinner and say "I meant what I said at the shark tank..." and then propose. Orrr I might just be crazy.

I think you should list more facts about you, her and your relationship before people can actually make a recommendation.

like the others have stated, maybe you are cheesy and she loves you for that.

but yes, be careful dropping it. and if she puts it on then gets on the slide, what if something happens.

have you asked her ever what she likes or how she would like to be proposed to? mine wanted it to be private or around not alot of people. small things like that. would she like it with breakfast in bed or would she prefer to be dressed up, etc.

would your girlfriend like it to be more romantic with candles and flowers, thoughtful like in a way she told you and you remembered, quick, funny, etc...every proposal is different because every woman is different. i wanted to make sure i caught mine on camera.

i wanted to make sure it was private and i know she loves thoughtful-ness and surprises so thats the way i did mine. some might think it was too much or too little. it depends on your woman. mine thought it was perfect
