Hey all! I have been a silent member for a while but just wanted to introduce myself and share my news with others who are psyched like me!
My FI, who was previously my loving and very devoted BF of almost 6 years proposed to me on Black Friday (Nov 27th), 2 days before my birthday. He serenaded me with his sax in a shi-shi restaurant (with like 100 ppl there!) in the town I live in. He played Garth Brooks, To Make You Feel My Love from Hope Floats. He had been whistling the song constantly and asking me if I like it. He played phenomenally. My parents and my brother were there, took pictures, and caught it on tape. The ring is amazing-we never shopped, I dropped some hints but both wanted the decision to be his.
l was literally, shocked. I couldnt even eat afterwards! Ppl keep asking me why I was shocked, that after all this time I must have suspected. But I can honestly say that we always knew we would get married, and weren't in a hurry (obviously!). I just tell ppl that when u are together for that long, there is a period of time in the middle that you are constantly expecting a proposal, and when it doesnt happen, u get so let down. Then u stop expecting altogether.
But he TOTALLY surprised me and it was fabulous! I love looking at my sparkly and knowing that i don't have to fend off any more "when are you guys getting married?" inquiries!
