Ok new brides, I just wanted to post a warning. My friend just got engaged this morning and literally, I kid you not......put 40, yes 40...pictures of her ring on facebook in an album entitled "what could have been several car payments". These photos are taken from every angle, on her finger, in the box, in a bowl of fruit, compared to the size of a quarter. I think this is just so tacky. When I got engaged, I showed people in person and didn't brag about how expensive I thought my ring was. Just wondering everyone's thoughts on this......PS this girl has booked everything for her wedding before she actually got engaged (venue, church, photog, photo box, baker..etc).

i've posted pics of my ring on FB, some of my closest friends don't live in the same town so it's a way for all of them to see it in one place...

i haven't however gone around bragging about the price, only me and FH know how much it cost

40 pictures seems kind of extreme.  I've been engaged for 2 weeks now and had people asking for a picture and still haven't gotten around to posting it yet.  Although partly because we only have 1 picture where the diamond is actually in focus.  haha

I see no problem with posting one or two pictures on facebook but 40 is definitely extreme, especially with the comments you are saying she included!  My friends and family kept begging me for a picture so I finally put one on for those who live far away to see.

40 pics is pretty extreme....

I had two pics and they were in the album "flying with my favorite pilot"...the FI proposed while he was flying me - so people who cared saw the ring, others saw it in person...a few "friends" were like i want to see the ring...really?  no congrats just to see the ring?? but i am not a me me me me person...some people like my brothers wife probably topped your 40 pics your friend did...

Wow, that's definitely a bit AW-ish.  I thought 5 pictures was a bit much... :P

I think I posted one to my mobile uploads, mainly because I knew people would ask for it. But the one comment I made said (okay, maybe bragged) that FI picked it out completely on his own, as we'd never looked together, and how much I loved it.

Posting 40 pics and bragging about thou$and$ spent on it is ridiculous. Can you imagine when this person has children??? I hate when people post 20 versions of the exact same picture of their kids, because "Oh, Baby L's smile is just a little different in this one!" Ugh...

wow that seems like a lot. I don't think anyone would want to go through that many pics just of a ring.

yeah....that's extremely tacky.  i think any more than 5 pictures of the actual ring is overkill.  and mentioning anything about how much it costs is completely unacceptable.  i get being excited, but i think she has to learn that no one will be nearly as excited as she is....
