Ok..I posted a week or so ago about setting a date. You guys helped me see the simple fact that whatever date we set would become special in it's own way, so I am no longer looking at "fun" dates (like 11-11-11 or 9-10-11). Now my problem lies in new dates. We have considered getting married 5-21-11 (which would be our 3 year dating anniversary), but we worry that since we are young and have a few financial obligations due to our home burning down and trying to get the new one built, it might not give us enough time to plan and finance the wedding. Then we considered 07-07-11 because it is the weekend after the 4th of July so we could have an evening ceremony and a dusk reception followed by a fireworks show to close (since fireworks are allowed in our rural area over a week after the 4th and people shoot them off up to a month after with no problems). BUT we then worried that it would give us a really good timeframe for planning and funding the wedding BUT since it's an outdoor wedding, we worry about the heat in the beginning of July. So our 3rd date choice, 10-1-11 would give us nice cool weather (but not cold) and it is PEAK leaf changing weather to give us a nice fall wedding, plenty of time to fund and plan, AND it would be more financially do-able for family traveling, not getting in the way of other holidays, etc AND the honeymoon, which we plan to take in Florida will also be more financially doable.. The cons to this date? Although we have two color schemes in mind for either of the dates I was really attached to Aqua/Tiffany blue and red and I am very attached to having a nice, flowy, lace/tulle/chiffon gown and white suits for the men with the color accents (whatever they might be). Not to mention, with Aqua&Red I absolutely love the idea of Red velvet cake with aqua icing or accents..I'm worried early fall wouldn't accomodate that type of a wedding with soft fabrics and breezy colors. Our fall "fall back" color scheme was a Royal blue color with a slightly golden yellow accent, but that scheme is formal with a "little" fun where the other one is "fun" but just formal enough to make it work. Things just seem to fall into place with the first color scheme where the latter seems to just run into dead ends as far as my creativity so I know that the aqua/red is more for us..we've agreed on so much with it and argued (already..so soon into this) over the Royal/Yellow colors and how to use them.
Ideally I want the wedding to be laid back and fun but not "lazy" and classless. When choosing a date, VENUES ARE NOT AN ISSUE. I got a lot of answers on my last post about venues, rentals, and caterers..The wedding is being held at our farm/our family's farm on a beautiful hilltop with nothing but pastures surrounding it so I'm more worried about the weather than I am the venue being available.

I am a COMPLETE d.i.y. bride and I couldn't be more excited to plan my own wedding and I have amazing friends and family that are going to help me put it together (one friend even declined being a bridesmaid because she was uncomfortable being up in front of the large group of people we'll have for guests and said she would rather help behind the scenes with getting the ceremony and reception set up and running smoothly so I deemed her my honorary M.O.H.), so at MOST I will have the local florist and someone to do the cupcakes/mini cakes we're hoping for (we want to do a cupcake cake with just a top tier to save) and even then, I found a base/stand for them I would just need the cupcakes or mini-cakes made by a professional. Oh and a D.J. and an Officiant which I have in the family/friends so that may be taken care of too.
Any Advice? (And I'm so sorry for this being SOOO long and in depth)..I'm just stuck and you just can't move forward with plans or even THINKING about the wedding without colors or a date..without both I'm REALLY stuck lol.
