New here =)

Hi ladies! I'm Christina and this is my first time posting on this board. I don't know why I haven't yet since I am a student as well, and after looking at all the other posts I can totally relate to everyone with school and planning a wedding at the same time! I am graduating May 8th and I'm getting married June 5th....so soon! I live in Tampa and I'm getting married in California so we're doing a destination wedding on top of that makes me feel a little more stressed! I am very happy and excited though. =)

Anyone else graduating this semester and getting married right after? I have one other friend who's done it lol and she survived so that's good! Any advice? =)

  • Hi! I just found this board today, too!  I also live in Tampa and am graduating on May 6th and getting married June 5th in St. Augustine, Florida--also a destination wedding.  What a coincidence :o)  To make matters more stressful, I just got engaged about 4 weeks ago.
If you are anything like me, the excitement of graduation is TOTALLY overshadowed by the fact that I am GETTING MARRIED!! lol
  • Omgosh Really Nona?? Do you go to USF? I go to the Tampa campus. =) That's so cool! Another June 5th bride!!! YAY!!  It's coming up so soon! Plus you got engaged to 4 wks ago? How exciting!! =) What do you have left to do? I feel bad planning everything for my wedding when I need to focus on graduating first! I think once we graduate it'll be REALLY fun since we won't have school to worry about anymore!

  • Ya, I am a medical student at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.  I matched into Ob/Gyn here at USF.  FI matched in the early match in January also here at USF for Urology.....OMG talk about a stressful match.  We couldn't do a couples match b/c Urology doesn't participate in the general match.
  • CDOMANTA-- I rush-ordered pretty much on everything (thank God for rush orders!)  I pretty much have everything except I'm going to St. Augustine this w/e with the parents to meet with florists, order a cake, and make the downpayment at the restaurant we will rent out.  Besides that, all I need is little things like guest book, maybe cake topper, thank-you's.  How about you?
  • Nona--Go BULLS!! That's so great that you go there too!! Wow, sounds like a fun and busy weekend for you two, I know you'll have a blast, esp. at the cake tasting! We need to still book our baker, and send out invites. We are meeting with his mom tomorrow and plan on getting invites out by the end of this week. We still need to plan the rehearsal dinner and bachelorette party. Thank goodness for internet and close family to help out!! =) I don't know what I'd do. I just wanna get everything done and squared away so that we can all just have a nice, smooth ride until the actual wedding day.

Thanks for the warm welcome TriSaratops! =)

  • I'm actually graduating May 16th, and getting married May 17th.
There are a lot of reasons why, and for a few months I was sure I had gone crazy to plan it that way, but as it gets closer, its getting easier. Plus: on the 18th, thats it, I'm done and I can go straight from insanity to bliss with my husband.
So: Anything is possible as long as you keep up to date with your to-do lists.

  • Wow Caity!!! That's great! You're totally right about staying up to date with to-do lists, knowing that things are checked off my list reduces any anxiety I may have. Congrats and best of luck planning and graduating!! =)
