Ceremony music

Any suggestions of who to use for ceremony music? We are getting married at a Methodist church and were also thinking about using a piano player for the dinner and cocktail hour of our reception.. Also how much is reasonable to ask for these services? Thanks

We had a company called Northcoast Brass do the music for our ceremony.  I believe they had a trumpet, french horn, and timpani drum.  I'm not sure if you'd want something more subtle than that, but a lot of our guests commented on how much they liked the music.  Email me if you would like contact info or price ideas.  We also had a very good vocalist if you're interested. natalieglase @ yahoo.com

We used a trombone quartet for our ceremony music. My DH plays trombone, so he put it together. It sounded awesome -- very regal. We married at a Methodist church, too. If you'd be interested in a brass sound, my DH belongs to a brass quintet called Cleveland Brasswerks and they do weddings as well as community events. Pricing depends on location, how much you need, rehearsal or not, etc.Generally, for single performers, $100-150/hour is the norm. For groups, it can vary (but wouldn't likely equal out to the $150/pp).Good luck!
