Hey Student knoties.

I normally hang on the Getting in Shape board but I want to explore new options.

Short intro, I am Christina. I live in South Florida (Not by choice}...  Just graduated with my Bachelors in Science for Psychology with child development. I am thinking about grad school but am SO torn on the subject and the money is heart breaking.... I am engaged to a wonderful man. I do not have a wedding date set.

Mr Right and I met when I was 14... He was my bros friend. We hung out for a weekend.  We didnt talk till I was 19 again... On Valentines day, he said I want to get to know you because we were long distance. We spent two weeks together in March and I never went home... I stayed with him and family in FL and 5 years later, here we are. 

How did you and SO meet? 

I graduated in June, just recieved my degree a few days ago because I had not completely paid off my balance... I really really want grad school but Idk if its right for me.

Hi there nikegrl688! I too just graduated with my Bachelors this past May 2012. My FI and I were long distance for our entire relationship, so I understand those feelings very much. I recently applied to graduate school since I felt like you, wanting to do it but afraid of the time and money it would cost. Good thing is that I have all the support in the world from my family and my FI so they said they would help me pursue and achieve those goals. Plus, in my field of study, it is important to be well rounded and have a solid education, so my FI knew having a Masters would help. I also wanted to have that under my belt before starting a family. Something my FI and I have talked about for a while now. It all felt right. You'll know when the time is right for you  to pursue your Masters. All in due time!

Britt,
It is so nice that your Fi is behind you on grad school... I know mine is on the fence only because I had a horrible experience doing everything online for my bach... He wants me to do it but wants me to go to a traditional school and I loved online... Its in the air. Im sorry you and the Fi are long distance. I couldnt do that. We never talked between the 5 years of us meeting and us getting together. I actually never really thought about him until he texted me.

I am really open to going anywhere. I just want to make sure the money will be worth it and the time will be worth it and I can get a job doing what I love or can tolerate... lol. What do you want to go for?

I have a million ideas about the wedding... none of which Fi and I can agree on but were not rushing anything... We live in South FL  together so we will get married here but that's the extent of our plans. He doesn't want a long engagement but doesn't want to talk budget so we are taking time and when it happens, it happens. It will fall into place.

Tell me about your weddings... Anything you love and have to have?? 
I decided I wanted a cupcake cake.. I love that idea. I am a baker too and I want to bake them but everyone I know told me that's ridiculous... Do not do it.

Haha that is a good plan!  I want to do research in Linguistics, possibly morphology or syntax, or historical Linguistic lol.  I'm torn.  

Sounds like you have a good start. Ya I wouldn't bake them either but only because I know I would be way too stressed out about it.  Not really something I would want to do on my wedding day.
