I have a few questions about Via Van Aken do you mind sharing your experience with me. I read your post and it sounds like the perfect place for us. The location is great.

    Sure!! They are great. We love Italian food so it was perfect for us. If you call and ask to speak with Pete the chef, you can set up a meeting to go over the menu options and everything. The room seats a max of 40 people, but we did squeeze 44 in there- 3 of them were kids though. On Friday nights they have a piano player in the bar so its a nice little setting. For us, he did 3 choices- chicken parm, fetticini alfredo or a steak and potatoes for non-pasta lovers. Everyone got a salad, and they put out white pizza/garlic bread for an appetizer as people arrived. All for only $12 a person. We didn't do any alcohol but if people wanted they could either go to the bar, which is pretty much right next to the room, or start a tab with the server. The phone # is 216-752-9994. Pete is usually there after 4pm- best time to call is before 5 on a week night since they aren't as busy. Feel free to tell him that Andrea from Sept 25th sent you. :) HTH!
