*Warning: this will be kinda long.*
So, here's the situation: my parents are going to be contributing to the wedding (at the very least), but they can't give me a budget until all of this court stuff for my brother is done (that's another long, long story)... which means my fiance and I can't even begin searching for venues and such until this summer, maybe.
Not that we'd be able to, anyway, with how busy my fiance is... he's a trumpet performance major and this is high school musical season... he's bringing in lots of money, but he's gone from 7AM til 11PM, and, understandably, tired and exhausted.
We're planning on getting married in summer 2012, in between our graduation dates - he's May 2012, I'm December 2012 - and I'm also worried about how my loan money will be affected. I take out private loans every single year to take care of rent and bills, and I don't know what will happen when I change my name and go from "dependent" and "single" to "independent" and "married."
So I guess I'm essentially asking two questions: what can I start planning (if anything) without a concrete budget? And does anyone know how private loans might be affected by marriage?
