Let's talk your menu

Okay so this is a spin off from B2B's post of her AWESOME menu. What are you serving?

We are having for hors d'oeurves;

-Crispy asiago asparagus spears
-Jumbo shrimp with cocktail sauce (served in a shot glass)
-Ocean scallops wrapped in Surry bacon
-Baked brie with danish bleu cheese
-Chicken salad tea sandwiches
-Fruit and cheese

For dinner:

-Rosemary and garlic roast pork tenderloin
-Grass fed angus tenderloin
-Salmon with fire roasted tomato beurre blanc
-Crab cakes with caper remoulade
-Macaroni and cheese bar with toppings such as bacon, lobster, chives, feta, etc
-Mashed sweet potatoes
-Grilled summer vegetables
-Baby broccoli, bell pepper and sweet corn saute

Dessert:

-Tiramisu shooters
-Shortcake shooters (lemon cake with blueberry compote)
-Pecan pie bites

  • Our cocktail hour is insane I don't even remember everything that we get.  We picked 10 hot appetizers then 3 carving stations we chose prime rib, rack of lamb and herb crusted loin of tuna.  The we also get the usual fruit & cheese platter with the antipasto. 

    Then a plated salad will be served with dinner along with an intermezzo.

    Dinner is
    chateaubriand
    chicken with sundried tomatoes and in a white wine sauce
    grilled swordfish
    eggplant parm for the vegetarians

    dessert Viennese hour and cake :)

  • We are going straight into the dinner after introduction although we will have finger foods like salsa and chips, chocolate strawberries, the candy bar. etc. 

    Dinner is an all you can eat taco bar
    Meat: Chicken, and Carne Asda, with the option for Veggie only
    3 different types of salsa and all the toppings that a normal mexican taco would have.

  • What are all of your RD menus like?

    We are doing pizza, BBQ, chips, salad, bbq beans, potato salad, shrimp cocktail and cookies/cupcakes.  We rented out the banquet room at our hotel.

    My future in-laws are hosting the Rehearsal Dinner at this private room at a fancy steakhouse. Unless they changed it without our knowledge, which is totally possible because they are nuts, here's the menu:

    First Course:
    Baby Arugula Salad, Shaved Reggiano, Lemon Olive Oil  

    Main Course: Choice of:
    8 oz. Filet Mignon, Creamy Mashed Potatoes, Asparagus, Barolo Sauce
    or
    Sautéed Striped Bass, Herb Risotto, Broccoli, Shellfish Brodo

    Dessert:
    Seasonal Cheesecake, Crème Anglaise, Fresh Berries. . . AND THE (surprise) GROOM'S CAKE that I got for fiance. It's a red velvet cake in a 3D Bengals helmet shape:

  • Oh my gosh! Everyone's menu sounds amazing! I'm full just reading through all of your apps!

    We have:
     roast beef, turkey, and ham with pepper jack, American, co jack, and swiss cheese with Vienna rolls.
     
    Bacon ranch potato salad, chicken wild rice salad, and an antipasto salad.

    Potato chips & fruit

    Ice cream treats for dessert

    I'm not 100% sure how I'm doing the fruit. I'll either make kabobs out of a few different kinds and stick the ends in a melon or I'll just cut it all up and put it out in a bowl.

    Cocktail Hour: Too many to list. Seriously we got to pick 7 passed hors devorves, then the venue makes 7 more, plus we get 3 hot chafing dish items, plus cheese fondue, and the standard vegies,fruit, meats and cheeses.

    Salad: Poached Pear Salad

    Entree: Choice of:
    Filet Mignon with a Mushroom Bordelaise
    Chicken Saltimboca
    Seared Salmon with a mango salsa
    Vegetarian selection (they then had to pick from four vegetarian options)

    Desert: Hot Fudge Sunday, Cupcake (choice of chocolate, vanilla, or red velvet)

    Late night snack (or really late afternoon): Mini sliders, french fries, chocolate milk.

    Omg Pillsbury! I saw your sig last night and immediately thought.. wth that looks hilarious and I have no clue what it is. I found it on youtube and I was dying laughing last night hahaha! I smile every time I see your sig! Thanks! :)

    Our caterer takes pictures of her food at tastings and sticks them in her contracts so that everyone knows/ remembers exactly what you had. We thought it was funny but whatevs. And since we all love pics, or at least I do, I'll PIP. The food portions look smaller than they really are

    Appetizer: Four cheese ravioli in a parmesan basket


    Palate cleanser (is that the right name??): Lime sorbet.. no picture :(

    Main course: Beef tenderloin in a red wine sauce on a portobello mushroom
    Almond stuffed honey mustard chicken
    Parmesan potato tower (?? be patient with me guys, i'm translating strange names here lol)
    Bacon wrapped green beans and julienne carrots
    Arugula salad with caramelized nuts, apples, tomato cherries with balsamic vinaigrette



    Dessert: Tied crepe filled with strawberry ice cream
    Chocolate teacup filled with blackberry mouse
    Berries and cream shooter (not in picture)
    Chocolate butterfly!



    Cake flavors: Chocolate, and nuts and amarreto cake

    Dessert table: Chocolate covered strawberries, mini fruit tarts and a dessert called "rogelitos"
