Wedding/School-related stress dreams

Sorry if this is totally OT for this board, but I had the worst dream last night that it was our wedding and I was so caught up in school and lab work that I forgot!  I hadn't even showered for a couple days, my hair was awful, and the make-up person didn't show up so my flowergirls started smearing blue fingerpaint on my face instead.

None of my bridesmaids showed up, the flowers were all dead, and the groomsmen's tuxes had been sold at the last minute to another wedding party so they were stuck wearing camo tuxes with pink vests and ties.  FI hadn't written his vows and started ranting about monster trucks when his turn came.  Guests started wandering off.  It started snowing and the leaves all fell off the trees.

I decided that it was just too much, and I couldn't handle this, so I left in the middle of the ceremony to get a massage instead.  We rescheduled the wedding, and everyone got over it.

Anyone else having stressed-out wedding nightmares???

Re: Wedding/School-related stress dreams

  • Aww poor thing! I have been stressing out about school and vendors not falling into place or calling me less than a week before the wedding and canceling the contract and not refunding us money.

Luckily for both of us this is just a DREAM!
  • I had a similar dream the other night.  Everything went wrong.  Or rather, everything was only half done.  We ended up having to stay in his parents spare room for the honeymoon.  Needless to say, after I told my DF about that dream he booked our hotel reservations the next day.
  • I'm gonna graduated literrally about 2 1/2 - 3 weeks before my wedding and I'm loading down my last semester with LOTS of work and I'm so worried that something will happen and I won't graduate on time. It's so scary and my parents are not ok with me being married before I graduate so if something does go wrong i'm not more if they'd want to push it back or let it happen and deal with it.

Last week I bought my dress and the night before I had a dream they dyed my dress green and put flowers on it. And then had a dream that the flowers on my wedding day were ALL wrong.

  • Oh man I'm glad I'm not the only one!  I'm getting married on spring break and I'm taking a really heavy course load so of course I have tons of work to do before the wedding.  I keep having weird dreams that I forget about the wedding and miss it, or no one shows up, or that I never got my dress fitted and steamed.  Mostly silly stuff, I'm sure everyone's day will be wonderful, but the dreams are a little unnerving!
  • I had a dream that no one showed up because I forgot to send out invitations! Horrible.
  • I totally know how you feel.  This semester and next I have 18 hours...more than I've ever taken before.  I'm stressed to the max!  A few weeks ago I had a dream that I was so caught up in school that I forgot to plan for the wedding and my fiance called me and said, "Aren't you excited?  Our wedding is tomorrow!!!"  and i FREAKED OUT!  I hadn't planned anything.  I didn't have a cake, flowers, dress, hairdresser...nothing.  My aunt is helping me plan and in my dream I called her over and over but she never answered.  I had to get everything as fast as I could.  Luckily my dad and sister helped.  I told my aunt about the dream and she said, "Wow...well don't worry, we won't let that happen!"  That was a relief...haha
  • The worst wedding dream I've had so far.... I forgot to do my hair and makeup, did not ever have my dress altered, showed up and the coordinator had made the centerpieces out of asparagus.  Then I realized that I forgot to brush my teeth, then as I was walking down the aisle, there was goose poop all over since we are getting married near some water.  It was horrible!  I've had others, like the other night I dreamt that I pulled out all of my own teeth!  Stress is not good for good dreams, I know that for sure.  It would be neat to see what all of this mean with some dream interpretation, we would probably all crack up at ourselves!
  • I like the centerpeices out of asparagus idea, actually!  Hum....

<div>I actually know that when you have dreams about teeth falling out (or in your case pulling them out) it means you are anxious about extreme life changes that may be happening.  :)  I had a dream that my teeth all fell out one by one right after I got engaged and it scared me so much I looked up all possible meanings.  That was the most common and apparently it is a very common nightmare!!!  Anyway, now you know a little bit, but I don't put much faith in dream psychology myself.  ;)  Still, interesting to know...</div><div>
</div><div>As for wedding nightmares the only one I have had was months ago and I dreamt that I decided to wear my dress to school for some reason and got it completely ruined.  But it wasn't actually about the wedding...just the dress.  It was so strange though!</div>
